Mathura. On Friday, an old man jumped into the deep waters of Yamuna from the pontoon bridge of Keshighat in the religious city of Vrindavan. It is being told that the old man was ill and hence he was not getting the company of his children, due to which he was disappointed. However, in time the sailors rescued the old man safely from Yamuna before he drowned. After this the old man's family took him with them.
According to the information, when the sailors present at Kesighat saw the person jumping into the Yamuna, many divers quickly jumped into the water one after the other. The sailors brought the old man, who was battling for life and death, safely to the shore. After this, when the sailor Balbir and Gulab Singh wanted to know from the old man the reason for jumping into Yamuna, the people present were shocked to know his ordeal.
Girraj Singh, a resident of Chhatikara, told that he has been ill and hungry for the last eight days. No one in his house is ready to give bread to Girraj, the head of the entire family of one son and six daughters. Fed up with this, he tried to commit suicide.
